I raise Arabians, mostly for the showring but I have had one that was an exceptional trail horse. His name was Dandy and he was the first baby I had raised. He now resides in Parkersburg, WV. This horse is the best: My girlfriend, Cari would ride him the most. If you needed a pee break he would wait patiently, if she wanted to smoke a cigarette and drink a beer at the same time he would amble down the trail and not spill a drop of her drink. He was such a gentleman. We will both miss him.

To the farrier: Thanks for the kudo's concerning Arabs. They are special and have secret little personalities. True they do not discuss their politics with anyone in my barn!!!

Growing up in the land of Quarter Horses I never had much opportunity to meet Arabians.

Being a farrier I can honestly say that a good portion of my "good horses" are Arabs and that many of them are used for endurance...so I have no doubt they make excellent trail horses.

The only question I have is regarding their politics....They're awful secretive and seem to only discuss it amongst themselves. Can we trust them given the current terror threat and the security risk they pose  more...
